Tangent COO Dave Turner and Nora Mead Brownell, former Pennsylvania PUC/Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Commissioner, spoke to Colonial School District’s Girls in Technology students to inspire careers in science and energy.
The educational partnership between Tangent and CSD was sparked by Tangent’s long-term energy solution for the school district, which includes on-site solar projects and will save the district nearly $1.5 million over a 20 year period.

About 20 females, ages 9 to 12, watched and listened intently as Tangent COO Dave Turner toured a giant solar panel brought into a classroom to demonstrate its size, durability and overall capabilities.
According to Turner, the solar panels are preventing 1.2 million pounds of carbon every year from being released into the atmosphere, which is the same amount of carbon that would be produced by electricity to power 50 homes.
